Psychotherapy is a popular form of treatment for mental health disorders, and is usually conducted in 45- to 50-minute sessions. However, there are times when you and your therapist might discuss and opt for more extended sessions, such as the 60-minute psychotherapy session. This type of session is not used frequently, but rather reserved for certain occasions and conditions.
