Meet Kristen Dalelio McLoud, LCSW

How I Got Here

I’m proud to have been born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. It shaped my perspective, my resilience, and my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a straight line, and I’m grateful for that. The experiences and challenges along the way taught me how to sit with people in their hardest moments and truly understand them — something I bring into every session.

Like many in this field, I describe becoming a therapist as a calling that grew over time. Before entering clinical work, I spent years in the digital marketing industry, ultimately serving as a Vice President of Client Services. While I valued that chapter, I felt a steady pull toward work that aligned more deeply with my values. My own life experiences and periods of growth made that transition feel both natural and necessary, and they continue to shape the empathy and authenticity I bring to my work with clients.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Adelphi University, and later earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Touro University. During my graduate training, I completed my clinical hours at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, where I worked with individuals navigating chronic and severe mental health conditions. That experience shaped me in a profound way — it strengthened my clinical skills, deepened my empathy, and clarified the kind of therapist I wanted to become. I am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed to practice psychotherapy in both New York and Florida.

My Treatment Approach

My first priority is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space in order to gain a deep understanding of of my client’s needs.   I recognize that everyone has their own unique qualities and strengths. Therefore, I use an integrative approach that incorporates methods from an array of treatment modalities.

My approach is rooted in the belief that people thrive when we care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Drawing from the psychology of mental wholeness, I focus on helping individuals build sustainable well-being by exploring their thoughts, emotions, physical health, strengths, and inner values. It’s not just about symptom relief; it’s about meaningful, lasting change.

a little more about me

In this video, I share a bit about who I am, how I work, and what you can expect from therapy with me.  I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and postpartum challenges, using a client-centered, holistic approach. My sessions blend psychodynamic insight (how did I get here?) with practical tools from CBT and mindfulness (how do I move forward?). I work with individuals at all stages of life, helping them gain clarity, reconnect with themselves, and feel more whole.

I'm here for you.
